This year’s England Final took place at Craven Cottage – Fulham FC on the 11th of May 2011. After a series of qualifying matches, played during the year, the final took place between Whitgift School (Croydon) V. Cardinal Heenan Sports College (Liverpool).
After months of competition and preparations, both teams were both keen to get on the pitch to fight for the coveted title. The match started by John Scales presenting the teams whilst ESFA Chairman Mike Coyne, 1966 England player George Cohen and Fulham Goal keeper David Stockdale shook hands with players and trainers.
The first and second half was very exciting with both teams playing extremely well. However, Cardinal Heenan had the slight upper hand and soon into the match they made a goal. After a gruelling 60 minutes Cardinal Heenan Sports College had won 4-1 taking the coveted title from last years winners, Whitgift School.
It was an exciting day with some great football being played! We are already looking forward to, not at least the global final, but also next years England final. Make sure your school has a chance to win the title next year by entering here on the website.
